Haven Holidays

Haven Holidays in the UK have specially adapted caravans that they say are suitable for wheelchair
users with assistance.  We went to Cornwall with Haven last summer and had a great time.

The caravan had a ramp to the front door, a sliding door wide enough to take my wheelchair and a
converted shower room that I could use.  No it did not perfectly meet  all my needs.  I did need some
help at times, but  it took a long time to convert my own home to meet my needs and even that is not
perfect.  It was pretty good.  You book through their Special Needs adviser (Phone  0870 381 1111)
and they do their best to find what you need.

Access at Last

Try the website accessatlast.com.  This is a site giving holiday details for all sorts of disabilities.
We used them to find holiday accommodation in Ireland and found everything was excellent.  We would
definitely use them again.

Ireland

We had a lovely trip to Ireland, Ballyhoura Forest Homes .  Great for a family . We had a really lovely
holiday.  They are detached timber homes all on one level in forest setting and fully wheelchair
accessible.  Great for nature lovers.  Limerick and Cork are a fairly short drive (half hour or so) away.
Lots to do and see or just have a relaxing time.  The homes have 1 double and 2 twin rooms, bathroom
and an en suite.  We had a lovely holiday with no problems.

England

Also try Clifford Barton in Dartmoor National Park, about 12 miles from Exeter.  They have 2 cottages
converted for wheelchair users.  Don’t have full details but we have friends who recommend.  The local
pharmacist delivered oxygen for them and they say the disabled facilities are very good.

Cornwall

The best  wheelchair friendly holiday  place we have found.  We have tried all sorts and not found
they come up to what was claimed.  This place did and a lot more.  It was great.  Trotters.
