Car Adaptations
I have MS and have recently had my car adapted. Please can you let me know if there are any grants
available to help with the cost.

Here are some ideas on where you might find funding for car adaptations:

The MS Society provides individual grants to assist people with necessary items such as aids and
equipment, adaptations to the home or car and top up funds for respite care breaks.

Elizabeth Finn provides grants for a variety of purposes on an individual need basis. They do,
however, issue guidelines on the groups of people they can help, which are: "people who have formerly
held occupations requiring a degree of responsibility and education. They must be of British or Irish
nationality and over eighteen years old. There are no geographic or religious restrictions." For more
information, go to [ http://www.elizabethfinncare.org.uk/Eligibility_Guidelines ]
FunderFinder makes a computer program called People In Need that helps individuals look for funding.
They will not do a funding search for you, but you can find out from them where you might do a search
locally. [ www.funderfinder.org.uk ]
I hope some of this helps. Posted by Editor 16.03.09
